Windows 7 Build 7070 Screenshots

Recently, Build 7068 of Windows 7 was leaked online, and now we get a couple of screnshots of Build 7070. Check them out below, as well as the post made by the leaker.

I just came back from Microsoft, since my Dad works there. He works for in the SQL server division and here are some screenshots I took about the new build 7070.

I don’t know if there is anything new to this build, but they installed it yesterday, so it probably will be leaked soon. They said it was a major update; maybe not to the user interface but more to the Kernel. Just letting you guys know.

Windows 7 Release Candidate Will Be Next

According to Steven Sinofsky, Microsoft will not launch a Windows 7 Beta 2 version, instead going directly to Windows 7 Release Candidate, which means it will be pretty much the final version.

The Windows 7 RTM (Ready To Manufacture) version will probably be released in the third quarter of 2009, while the release will probably be in October.

Shortcut For Extra Options In Send To Menu In Windows 7

Pressing and holding the Shift key before you right click on an item in Windows 7 will add extra options to the Send To menu. You get a bigger list of places where you can send the files. Those extra places are all the folders that exist in the account folder, so if you want to add some extra places in that menu, create folders or shortcuts there and they will show up.

Displaying Text On Taskbar Buttons In Windows 7

The default setting of Windows 7 will only show the icon in the taskbar, with no text under it. So, if you don’t know what the icon means, things can get a little confusing. If you want to change to the old way, here is how you do it.

1. First, move the mouse cursor to an empty area of the taskbar, then right click and select Properties.

2. In the Properties area you will see the window below. Match the settings to what the screenshots shows. Instead of “Always combine, hide labels”, choose “Never combine” from the dropdown menu.

3. Click OK and you will see the results.
